KENMORE KORNER - MARCH 2023
Happy Spring to each and all. We hope you will join us at our “Celebrate Spring from East to West” on Tuesday, March 21 (the spring equinox) from 10am-noon at the Kenmore Senior Center.
We will share some spring traditions from Japan (Sakura) and from ancient Persia (Naw-Ruz). Come enjoy some special treats, make a simple spring craft and take part in our “spring surprise” raffle! $5 suggested donation. Call 425.489.0707 to reserve a spot.
A reminder to check our website www.northshoreseniorcenter.org for a complete
list of classes/activities happening at all Northshore Senior Center locations:
Bothell, Kenmore and Mill Creek. Membership is $48 a year and provides access
to all 3 locations as well as lots of member benefits and discounts on classes and
programs.
Hopelink Mobile Food Market is back in Rhododendron Park on the 1st /3rd Tuesday
of every month, from 1-2pm. Folks can drive through the parking lot and pick up
free groceries, produce and seasonal items.
The Kenmore Senior Center Community Food Pantry happens on the 2nd /4th
Wednesday of every month, from 12:30-2:30. Free and open to all ages.
Donations of non-perishables are always welcome. Give us a call at 425.489.0707
to arrange a drop off time. We’re open Mon-Fri 9am-3pm.
The picnic shelter in Rhododendron Park is available for rent for your special
occasions, family events, etc. The shelter was fully booked every weekend last
spring and summer, so plan ahead! The Kenmore Senior Center manages the
shelter reservations. Give us a call, or email kenmoreseniorcenter@mynorthshore.org to get an application and reserve your spot. The shelter has a large covered area with picnic tables, 2 bbq grills, a water fountain/spigot, electrical outlet, and a well-maintained public restroom.
There are 2 playgrounds, one for toddlers and another for older children. It’s a beautiful
space to spend the day!
