Construction continues on the West Sammamish River Bridge Replacement project.
The contractor has mobilized a crawler crane to the work area in preparation for drilling and setting piers, the main supports for the bridge. In-water work won’t begin until July 1st, but the crew will be setting piers on the north and south land areas outside the river in the coming weeks.
They’ve also begun to build the wall adjacent to the boat launch.
The speed limit through the construction area has been reduced to 25mph. Please drive carefully and watch for pedestrians and workers. Bikers are being asked to either travel on the main northbound (open) lane of traffic, or dismount and walk their bike if using the sidewalk. With families and pedestrians using the sidewalk, dismounting will help to keep everyone safe.
