Heritage Society partners with city and Burke Museum to preserve historic TL' AWH-AH-DEES park

Tulalip Artist Ty Juvinel will create artwork and Burke Museum cultural education director Mary Jane Topash to guide educational efforts about historic native site.

Kenmore and the Heritage Society were awarded the Sivinski Grant earlier this year. The grant is partially funding the mural KHS has contracted with Ty to create.

Additionally the City has asked for Heritage Society to purchase plant identification signs and work with them to identify and educate about native plants.

The Burke will create education materials behind the mural, the spindle whorl (art) and the plants. Heritage Society is purchasing the spindle whorl with our own funds. There is no cost for the Burke since the materials they develop will be part of their indigenous education program.
