The new bike lanes along NE 175th Street between 65th Avenue NE and 68th Avenue NE connecting the Burke Gilman Trial and the recently constructed multi-use path across the West Sammamish River Bridge has been completed.

The new bike lane improvements include 7-foot-wide buffered bike lanes in each direction, wayfinding signage, and a safe bicycle street crossing. The new lanes provide a safer transition from the Burke Gilman to 68th along a dangerous stretch of NE 175th that is heavily used by cement and dump trucks entering and exiting the Cadman cement plant. A bicyclist was killed at the location in 2015.

This project was funded through the Washington State Department of Transportation’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Program. For more info send questions to constructionprojects@kenmorewa. gov
