Volunteer opportunities for Kenmore Club members
Part of the mission of the Kenmore Community Club is to increase participation in the Kenmore Community by its members. To that end we continually post volunteer opportunities for members to join in and help make Kenmore a better place to live.
There are many ways to help and most of our members say that volunteering often gives them a much greater sense of fulfillment for the time they give.
They enjoy meeting others in the community and learning more about the city they live in. Some opportunities require a long-term commitment, but many offer short, periodic commitments of only a couple of hours or so.
Here is a list of some of the ways to give back:
Foodbank distributuion – INSP (International Nutritional Sustainable Partners) needs volunteers each first Friday of the Month to help distribute food boxes. To sign up click here. Commitment: 2-3 hours monthly
Student volunteers – Many schools, churches, and clubs require or strongly encourage youth to complete volunteer hours. The Kenmore Club's Youth Council is a great opportunity to gain leadership experience and organizational skills. Click here for more information. Commitment: Depending on project, usually a few hours a month The City also has volunteer opportunities that can often meet these volunteer requirements if adequate planning time is provided. If hours are needed quickly, we suggest students review the Kenmore Connections section above to explore other options within the community. Hangar Ambassadors – The City is seeking part-time volunteers to serve as community ambassadors at the Hangar, Kenmore’s newest community building. Volunteers are expected to serve as on-site support to assist visitors with questions. Click here for Hangar Ambassador Volunteer Description & Application. Commitment: One 3-hour shift every two weeks; one or more shifts weekly is preferred.
Kenmore Events Team – The City, along with supporting business sponsors and volunteers, offer a variety of special events each year to bring together the community and celebrate Kenmore. The Kenmore Events Team is essential to the success of Kenmore’s Special Events. KET is a team of dedicated individuals that assist City staff in implementing the City’s 4 major events offered each year. Click here to fill out the volunteer intake form. Commitment: 1 year for 18 and older
Environmental Stewards – Many volunteers take great pride in Kenmore’s parks and open spaces and volunteer to ensure these public lands are protected, properly cared for, and accessible for citizens and visitors to enjoy. Positions include: Park Stewards, Nature Stewards, Park Clean up Events. Police Volunteer – The Kenmore Police Department “Citizen Volunteer Program" allows residents to participate in wide variety of community programs, e.g. house checks, delivery of citations to the court, false alarm enforcement, community traffic safety, storefront clerk and more. Must be 21 years old, pass a background check and polygraph exam. To learn more click here to go to the Police Department page. Commitment: 4 hours per month
