Things you can do: Write a letter to someone in your community


The King County Library has organized a "Letters to Woodinville Seniors" program aimed at providing residents of nursing home receive letters and cards from people in the community.


If you’ve been looking for a way to help in the current COVID-19 epidemic, the program allows senior citizens who have been cut-off from family and friends to ensure their safety, to continue to connect to the community. The Library poster invites community members to let seniors know they are not alone just by sharing a letter, card or artwork with them.


The guidelines include:

  • When creating your letter, card or art piece: Be kind and thoughtful!

  • Use gender neutral language.

  • Do not use any religious themes, phrases or quotes like “God bless.”

  • Do not include any personal information such as a phone number, email, etc.

  • Refrain from using scented items or glitter.

  • Sign the card with your first name only and place your creation in an unsealed envelope.
